A dated register of 219 entries from AI video makers' own changelogs, API update logs and launch posts, July 2024 to September 2026: seventeen model lines, each change sorted into eleven kinds, from new models and longer clips to sound, references, frames and editing, plus the days outside models reached Runway and Higgsfield. 3Why release notes
A model's page describes what it does today. Its release notes describe what changed and when, which is what matters when a clip made in March behaves differently in May, or when deciding whether the feature you need arrived yet. Makers write these notes for their own users, so they are uneven: some keep a dated log for every parameter, some announce a new model once and say nothing more.
Each entry here quotes one such note, gives the date the note carries, names the version it belongs to and sorts it by what changed. Nothing was generated or timed to make the register.
4What the notes show
Two arcs are clearest. Clips got longer, first through extension and then per generation, from ten seconds in mid-2025 to thirty seconds for Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 in August 2026. And sound moved from lip-sync added afterwards to sound generated with the picture; the earliest such note here is Veo 3's, in July 2025.
Frames, references and editing notes run through the whole period. Camera control is one of the thinner threads, and much of it is about planning several shots rather than moving one camera.
