Multi-shot video in AI video release notes
Multi-shot output holds several shots, with cuts between them, in one generated video or one request. As of 2026-09-25.
The notes read reach multi-shot by two routes. Amazon's Nova Reel 1.1, in April 2025, joins 6-second shots into a video of up to two minutes: its automated mode writes the shots from one prompt of up to 4,000 characters, and its manual mode, which Amazon also calls storyboard mode, takes a prompt for each shot.
Wan 2.6, in December 2025, plans several shots inside one generation of up to 15 seconds and keeps subjects and scenes consistent across them. Kling's canvas, shot types and set frames for multi-shot videos follow in 2026, and HappyHorse 1.1 names shot control.
For drama, the difference matters. Joined shots are separate generations that share a style; planned shots come out of one generation, so the cut and what is on either side of it are made together.
