MCP servers in AI video release notes

An MCP server exposes a service's tools through the Model Context Protocol, so an AI agent or chat client can call them directly. As of 2026-09-25.

For video models, an MCP server means an agent can start a generation without a person opening the app. PixVerse released one in April 2025. Runway used its MCP server as the first surface for several outside models in 2026: Seedance 2.0 Mini and Fast, Seedance 2.0 in 4K, Seedance 2.5, Grok Imagine 1.5 and Kling's 3.0 and O3 models.

An arrival on an MCP server is narrower than an arrival in the app. Runway's notes name the surface, which is why this register keeps the platform's own wording in each arrival entry.
