Runway's Video to Video in September 2024 restyled an uploaded clip from a prompt or a preset style, and reached 20 seconds that November. Its Aleph model in July 2025 widened the idea to editing, transforming and generating from video.

Other makers name the same move differently: Restyle at PixVerse, Modify Video at Luma, which keeps a performance and changes the world around it.
