What each AI video model's release notes say changed

Native and upscaled resolution in AI video

Native resolution is the size the model renders at; upscaled resolution is a larger size made from a smaller render afterwards. As of 2026-09-25.

Notes often give one number without saying which it is. Some say it plainly: Luma's Ray3.14 brought native 1080p, Kling's April 2026 notes say native 4K, and Grok Imagine 1.5 renders native 1080p for text and image input. Google's Gemini Omni note says its 1080p and 4K come from upscaling.

Runway's 4K in January 2025 was upscaling inside Gen-3 Alpha, and Veo 3 preview models could be upscaled to 1080p in July 2025. PixVerse released an upscale feature in June 2026.
