How the release notes are read

Each maker's public changelog, API update log, release notes or dated launch posts were read on one day. A note became an entry when it changed what a video model makes or how it is reached. Each entry keeps the note's own date, a short quote, the version and one or more kinds of change. As of 2026-09-25.

1What counts as an entry

A note counts when it describes a video model or a control on it: a new model, a new tier, longer clips, higher resolution, sound, references, frames, editing, camera, motion, or access through an API or plan. Notes about workspaces, sign-in, billing screens, image models and help pages were left out. Retirement and shutdown notices were left out as well; so were prices.

2Dates

The date is the one printed on the note. When the same change appears in two of a maker's logs on different days, as with Veo in the Gemini API and on Vertex AI, both are kept. Seedance's versions have no dated notes on the pages read, so its rows from BytePlus's model list carry no date and its dates come from platforms.

3Versions

An entry is filed under a version only when its note names the model: a model id, a version number or a product name tied to one model. Notes that describe a feature without naming a model, which is common in API logs, are marked as not naming one rather than assigned to whichever version was current. That keeps version pages to what the makers said about each version.

4Arrivals

Runway, Higgsfield and Luma announce outside models in their own changelogs and posts. Those notes are filed under the outside model's line and marked as arrivals, so a line page shows both when its maker released a version and when a platform started offering it.

5Kinds of change

Each entry is given every kind of change its note describes, so one note can count under several. The kinds are assigned from the note's words; a claim that motion looks better counts under motion even though nothing here checks it.

6Sources per line

Inclusion rule. Every source an entry was taken from; a log kept one page per entry, as LTX's is, is one source. Order. Lines alphabetical; sources in the order first used.
