Turbo, Fast, Flash, Lite and Mini tiers
Faster or cheaper versions of a model released alongside or after it, under names such as Turbo, Fast, Flash, Lite, Mini or Prime. As of 2026-09-25.
The names differ by maker but the note usually says the same thing: quicker, lower cost, sometimes at lower resolution or with fewer inputs. Runway's Gen-3 Alpha Turbo in August 2024 is the earliest in the register; Veo 3 Fast, Hailuo 2.3 Fast, Wan Flash tiers, Veo 3.1 Lite, Seedance 2.0 Mini and Wan 3.0 Prime follow.
Prime is the odd name out: Alibaba Cloud describes Wan 3.0 Prime as the high-speed version with capabilities aligned to the standard one. Draft modes are a related idea, a low-resolution preview render before a final one, as in Luma's Ray3 and Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield.
