How long do AI video models stay in preview?

Where the notes give both dates, weeks to months. Veo 3 went from a Gemini API preview on 17 July 2025 to general availability on Vertex AI twelve days later and in the Gemini API on 9 September; Veo 3.1 from preview on 15 October to Vertex AI GA on 17 November. As of 2026-09-25.

A preview label says a model can still change. Google's notes are the clearest record of the step because its two surfaces each date it, so the same model can be in preview on one and generally available on the other.

Adobe's route was a limited public beta for the Firefly Video Model in October 2024, then the new Firefly app four months later, in February 2025, with 1080p output. Veo 3.1 Lite has reached only preview in the notes read, on both surfaces: in the Gemini API on 31 March 2026 and, as a public preview, on Vertex AI two days later.
